The impact of root exudates, volatile organic compounds, and common mycorrhizal networks on root system architecture in root-root interactions

چکیده

Plants constantly communicate with coexisting neighbors and adjust their physiological morphological characteristics, including changes in root system architecture (RSA). Increased or decreased biomass accumulation, horizontal vertical asymmetric distribution are the main behavioral performances. Some evidence has shown that these performances associated plant plasticity such as secretion of exudates release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) describe role common mycorrhizal networks (CMNs) a communication pathway during belowground interplant interaction. Here, we highlight direct cues signals indirect effects via regulating soil nutrients microorganisms media root-root interactions on RSA have been taken into consideration. At last, existing knowledge gaps potential research directions outlined for better understanding RSA.

Root-gel interactions and the root waving behavior of Arabidopsis.

Arabidopsis roots grown on inclined agarose gels exhibit a sinusoidal growth pattern known as root waving. While root waving has been attributed to both intrinsic factors (e.g. circumnutation) and growth responses to external signals such as gravity, the potential for physical interactions between the root and its substrate to influence the development of this complex phenotype has been general...

Rhizosphere interactions: root exudates, microbes, and microbial communities1

The study of the interactions between plants and their microbial communities in the rhizosphere is important for developing sustainable management practices and agricultural products such as biofertilizers and biopesticides. Plant roots release a broad variety of chemical compounds to attract and select microorganisms in the rhizosphere. In turn, these plantassociated microorganisms, via differ...
